Spring has arrived in Franconia, in force!

What a string of weather we have been enjoying these past couple weeks. Rain showers have been very low, while day time temps, the spring sun and amount of spring corn snow have all been quite high. Hats off to all Franconia's local ski resorts, Cannon, Bretton Woods & Loon Mountain for a fabulous season. Mother Nature's extra bounty was great yet without the hard work of the folks at the resorts just mentioned our skiing would not be nearly as great as it was...and still is in some spots. The calendar and lack of skiers closed our ski resorts this season, and not the lack of snow.

Now that the lifts have stopped turning our thoughts and activities quickly change to that of the next season: hiking, biking, scenic touring and simply working in the yard...with a great White Mountain view awaiting your occasional glance or prolonged stare.

With the number of warm and sunny days that we've enjoyed our "Mud season" has been shorter than ever expected, however wooded and upper level trails still have areas of mud, snow and ice- especially at elevations above 2750 feet. The regions waterfalls, rivers and streams are all in full force, the leaves have yet to blank out the views for the summer and best of all- No Bugs!. This is actually a great time to visit so why not make your plans today.

Franconia Notch Vacations is waiting to assist you in planning your holiday, get-away or run-away weekend, week, month ore more. Our Vacation Specialists are waiting to help. Call 800-247-5536 or visit us at www.franconiarentals.com

Spring Conditions Arrive in Franconia!

The long.......awaited warmer days of Spring are forecast for ALL of this week and I will confirm for you that it's real. The sun is out, the temps climbing and the snow's softening just perfectly. Now that GREAT spring skiing conditions have arrived, how about you? Get up here!

Just think, you have the opportunity to watch opening day at Fenway (on TV) between glorious sun-soaked ski runs at Cannon, Bretton Woods or Loon Mountain this year, and the conditions will last for days there after.

The snow pack is simply prime for early spring hiking excursions on snow shoes. Firm yet edge-able snow surfaces prevail at current, however where it gets steep is shall get icy. Be prepared accordingly if venturing afar and always watch the weather. Let's not see a sunny day end in sadness of any sort cause fair caution was tossed to the winds that you hadn't realized where on their way.
